Terms of Service
These terms are between you and Kevin Terry, doing business as Gizmos Inc. ("we"), Robbinsville Township, NJ 08691, United States. They cover gizmos-inc.com and our games WordWeld, WordWarren, WordMortar, WordYarns and WordCobble. By playing or buying, you agree to them. Contact: [email protected].
1. The games
Our games are party word games for a group in one room: the TV shows the game, and everyone plays on their phones. A table without a pass is free for up to 3 players and up to 3 rounds; a pass lifts those limits.
2. Who may play and who may buy
Anyone may play. Players are asked only for a nickname. You must be 18 or over to buy a pass or give us an email address. If you let children play on your device or at your table, you are responsible for their use.
3. Passes
- A pass is held by the host's household (the TV and phones it pairs). Everyone who joins that household's game plays free.
- A pass for one game: 3 days $2.99, 30 days $9.99. A pass for every Gizmos game: 3 days $4.99, 30 days $14.99. Sales tax is added where it applies. Prices may change; the price you pay is shown before you pay.
- The clock starts at the first game after you get the pass, or by itself 60 days after you get it if you have not started it.
- One free 3-day pass per new household in each game, and one per network every 30 days; it starts by itself at the first game that needs it. Gift passes come from codes we give out; each code works once.
- Your pass code restores your pass on another device. Anyone with the code can use it, so keep it private. We are not responsible for a pass taken by someone you gave the code to.
- Passes are a licence to use a game's features for the time stated. They have no cash value and cannot be resold or transferred except through the pass code as above.
4. Refunds
See the Refund Policy: an unstarted pass refunds in full within 60 days; a started pass does not.
5. Acceptable use
Do not: use the games to harass anyone or to type hateful, sexual or threatening content; try to break, overload or get around the games' limits or pass rules; collect other players' information; or pretend to be us. We may remove content, end a game, or cancel a pass (without refund) for abuse.
6. What you type
Nicknames, answers, words and suggestions you type are yours. You let us use them to run the games (showing them to the other players, reading them aloud, including them in stories), to keep game history as our Privacy Policy says, and to improve the games. Do not type other people's private information.
7. AI-written content
Some games use AI to write lines (WordWeld's Foreman, WordMortar's Old Reg, WordCobble's Cobbler, WordYarns' narrator). AI can write things that are wrong, odd or not to your taste; we filter for offensive words, but cannot promise every line is suitable. Treat it as a game, not as fact.
8. Availability
We run the games on our own servers and try to keep them up, but we do not promise they will always be available or free of bugs. If an outage spoils a game night, tell us; we may give a gift pass, at our discretion.
9. Our liability
The games are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law that cannot be limited.
10. Changes and ending
We may change these terms; we will post the new version with its date, and significant changes will be shown in the games. We may stop offering a game; if a pass you paid for still has unused time, we will refund the unused part or move it to another game, your choice.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States.
